Borrowing Gear From UQMC

Welcome to the UQ Mountain Club lend engine site!

This is the platform we use to manage equipment loans for club activities and personal trips. All club members can sign up for free!

The hire fee is $5 per item, and a refundable deposit is charged for each piece of equipment. The refundable deposit will be returned once the item is returned in good condition. The $5 hire fee does not apply to items loaned out for UQMC trips, so if you're loaning gear for a club trip you will only need to pay the refundable deposit :)

What gear can I use?

Unfortunately no life critical gear can be loaned out by UQMC, but we still have plenty to offer! Hiking gear including backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats and cooking stoves can be loaned. As for climbing, we have a good selection of boulder pads that can be loaned. You can explore the full range of gear using the categories on the left.

How does it work?

Use the tabs on the left or the search bar at the top to find the gear you want to loan. Add as much as you like to your basket, remembering that the hire fee is PER ITEM. Anything that is currently reserved or on loan cannot be added to your basket. Each item will also display its required refundable deposit amount, which will be returned when the item is returned in good condition. When adding an item to your basket you will be prompted with a pickup and return date, only times that the UQ Gear Shed is open can be selected. If no times are shown it means that the UQ Gear Shed is currently closed (usually over university holidays). Select the available times and then reserve your gear. If you cannot make the opening times, feel free to email the quartermaster at uqmcquartermaster@gmail.com and we will arrange a different time to open for you.

Come along to the UQ Gear Shed during the opening time that you selected to pick up your gear. You will be required to pay the hire fee and the refundable deposit. Cash or card is accepted. Then you're good to go!

When returning gear, please do so during the time that you selected. If you cannot make this time, please email the quartermaster at uqmcquartermaster@gmail.com to arrange an extension of your reservation. If the items are returned in good condition you will receive your refundable deposit back :)

The UQ storage shed is on campus at field 9, 92A Coldridge Street, St Lucia. Please unsure you are arriving during opening times.
